How It All Started
Marcus and Tanya Wells are high school sweethearts from East Nashville. Marcus played football at Tennessee State and spent his summers working construction. Tanya got her business degree from Belmont. They married at 22 and started dreaming about being their own boss.
In 2008 — right in the middle of the recession — they took the leap. Everyone said they were crazy. Marcus had been doing fence work for another company for five years and knew he could do it better. Tanya crunched the numbers and said “let's go.”
They started with a beat-up F-150, a post hole digger Marcus bought at a farm auction, and residential cedar fences in East Nashville. They built a reputation for showing up on time, keeping a clean job site, and building fences that actually stayed straight.
Word of mouth did the rest. 18 years, 3,000+ fences, and four crews later — they're still doing what they love.
